Abstract

Although a comprehensive CRM platform, there is no native functionality in the Salesforce.com platform to display event information from any sObject in a responsive, web-based calendar. The purpose of this paper is to research the process of developing such a feature within the Force.com Platform as a Service (PaaS) in a manner such that it may be productized and deployed in a managed package to any Salesforce.com subscriber. This software package was developed using Apex, Visualforce, JavaSript, HTML, and CSS3. Furthermore, this paper will investigate the tools available to the Force.com developer for creating such a feature as well as the Software Development Life Cycle on the Force.com platform. This paper also includes an analysis of different methodologies for achieving the business requirements of this project as well as suggestions that may improve future versions.
