The quiz will be
Thursday, February 14
during our normal class time.
It will be a combination short answers (with some code expected).
It will only cover those tags and styles that have been common in all projects to date.
Chapters 1 and 2
- What does HTML mean?
- What is a tag?
- What are the two basic parts (structure) of web pages
- What might be found in each of the two basic parts
- What key folders are found in most multi page web sites
- What is DNS and what does it do?
- What is CSS?
- What is the current standard for HTML and CSS?
- What program reads the tags?
Chapter 3
- What is the title tag?
- Where does the title tag appear?
- Why can you not change the format/color of the title tag? and what does?
- Provide examples of meta tags and their purpose
- What items appear in the head portion of a web page to assist with SEO?
- What are the new HTML5 semantic elements (think segments of the page)
- Examples of the common tags we have used to date with the inclass 1 and 2
prorjects
- How to code an LINK command to display the text different from the actual link
- What is an absolute link versus a relative link (where each is best?)

- When trying to employ a self developed style on a page, how do we tell the browser to
'use' a particular style?
- How do you extend or add to the properties of existing tags
- How to you employ or use a style for a tag you have extended?
- What is the difference between the color and background color styles
- When is it appropriate to use a word for color (i.e. color:red) and when is it not
