Abstract
The change of lush fertile and workable land into a state of desolation or
unproductivity is known as land degradation. Land degradation, as a whole, is a serious
problem; one which causes immeasurable damage every year. Despite the problem itself
not being new the use of artificial intelligence to classify and predict land degradation
is relatively new, especially compared to the problem itself. That being said numerous
other researchers have done work using artificial intelligence to solve the problem of land
degradation with varying results depending on the algorithm and dataset used.
