Gregory Gerlach is a Senior Manager at Petra Funds Group, where he leads the modernization of private equity fund operations through automation, data, and process design.
After spending ten years in the United States Marine Corps, Greg transitioned into accounting and eventually into private equity, where he now builds the systems that keep billion-dollar funds running accurately and efficiently. He co-founded Petra’s PEAK transformation initiative, which has replaced manual, error-prone workflows with scalable, technology-enabled processes across the firm.
Greg designs and builds tools using Excel, SQL, Python, and Microsoft Power Platform that are used every day by fund accountants and operations teams to deliver faster, cleaner, and more reliable financial reporting.

Lizzie Sutton is a Senior Manager in Choice Hotels International's tax department, where she specializes in transaction analysis and tax planning initiatives. A UNCW alumni, she earned her undergraduate degree in 2015 and MSA in 2016. Previously, she worked at Deloitte, focusing mainly on clients within the real estate sector. Outside of work, Lizzie enjoys boating and spending time with family. She is also active in Cape Fear CREW and currently serves as Treasurer on the board of directors.

Grey graduated from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington in 2005 with a Bachelors and Masters degree in business with a concentration in Accounting. He started work full time as an accountant but shortly after began buying and selling properties on the side, later becoming a full time investor in real estate. He bought and sold numerous properties for a couple of years also while working part time as a college accounting instructor. Grey is now the owner of Grey Outdoor LLC , which he has grown to more than 380 billboard structures with more than 760 faces- including 49 digital faces across North and South Carolina, Virginia and Florida. Grey is actively growing the company.
In 2019 Grey was nominated for the board of the North Carolina Outdoor Advertising Association. Grey and his wife Sarah live in Wilmington, NC and have three children. Grey is an avid surfer, world traveler and a Brown Belt in Jiu Jitsu.

Laura is a seasoned tax executive and currently serves as the Senior Director of Tax at NetApp, where she leads the global tax function for a company operating in more than 70 countries. She oversees a high-performing team across North Carolina, California, Ireland, and India and plays a pivotal role in shaping the company’s tax strategy, financial reporting, and global compliance.
Prior to joining NetApp, Laura spent 15 years at Ernst & Young, specializing in ASC 740 reporting, tax department transformation, and consulting for public, private, and global companies across a range of industries.
She holds both a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Accounting from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington and is a licensed CPA in the state of North Carolina.
