I am a Software Engineer with a Masters in Computer Science and 32 years of experience with International Business Machines (IBM) in a wide variety of positions. I spent the first half of my career in a development lab, initially as a software developer and subsequently as a development and then consulting services manager. I spent the second half in customer-facing software technical sales, where I would install, customize, and provide education on the use of IBM software to large bank, insurance, and state government customers. I have been a CEN Mentor for ten years, and while my expertise is primarily in IT, I have worked successfully with students of all concentrations. My motivation is to help you reach your goals by listening, providing constructive input, fine-tuning your career journey, improving your professional skills and expanding your personal network. I regularly call on my previous mentees to assist my current ones with consultation and advice. My wife and I have lived in Wilmington for 25 years, and we share our home with our Golden Retriever Bill and a new addition, a kitten named Willow. I also have an old boat on Wrightsville Beach that keeps me busy with maintenance issues and provides some fun cruising the ICW.
