I am accountant by education and training, having worked for Price Waterhouse in their small business audit and advising group for 10 years. I then moved on to 30 year stint at Travelers Insurance where I held several positions in accounting and finance, from mid level officer roles, to Senior Leadership positions throughout the company. Internationally, I worked with our partners at Lloyds of London, managing Travelers share of international risks. My entire career was based in Hartford CT. Also at Travelers, I was the Chair of the Financial Leadership Development Program, which recruited college accounting and finance majors to the Company to develop them into our future finance leaders. As part of this program, I have interviewed hundreds of students, and once selected , mentored them through the 3 year rotational program, and long after program graduation throughout their careers. I am firm believer that to build a success and progressive career in business, you must master the technical aspects for your field. Once proven, those skills need to be supplemented by strong communications skills, curiosity, and humility to grow professionally.
