With a 40-year career in financial services, JC has extensive knowledge and experience in commercial banking, wealth management and fintech. As cofounder and president of two bank start-ups, JC played key roles in strategic planning, attracting, and developing talent, and business leadership. These experiences cultivated a deep understanding in the importance of corporate culture and led to roles leading successful turnarounds of several troubled community banks. After joining the leadership team of Wilmington based Live Oak Bank in 2015, JC held positions heading human resources, recruiting, learning and development, and employee engagement before retiring in 2022. JC created and led programs within Live Oak University for onboarding and integrating newly hired associates, supporting leaders as teachers, career coaching, transitioning from buddy to boss, enhancing emotion intelligence, and embracing diversity and inclusion initiatives. During JC’s tenure, Live Oak Bank was ranked four consecutive years as #1 Best Bank to Work For by American Banker Magazine.
