Joyce Walling has extensive federal government experience in environmental engineering R&D and project management, organizational development and training, and communications. In 2019, she retired from a U.S. Environmental Protection Agency national laboratory which specializes in developing technology solutions to environmental problems. During her EPA career, Joyce supervised engineering and communications teams, successfully addressing significant staffing and labor relations challenges. She advised senior executives on organizational improvement efforts and restructurings, led development and implementation of a strategic plan, and conducted numerous training and development programs. Joyce led the organization’s external and internal communications programs, specializing in conveying complex technical information in plain language. A highlight of her career was as a mentor and coach to help individuals identify their strengths and achieve their career goals. Joyce enjoys being a CEN mentor!
