Andrew “Andy” Almeter, MA, FACHE is President + CEO of Leath HR Group, a strategic human resources firm serving clients across industries and around the globe. Previously, he led business operations for Novant Health’s Regional and Specialty Services; a division with over 860 employees across 90+ departments delivering 19% revenue growth (to $723M) and 20% profit growth in just two years. His leadership extended through four major hurricanes, the COVID-19 pandemic, and site-planning for the Michael Jordan Family Clinics, all while earning top rankings in employee engagement and patient safety. Andy’s career has spanned research and business leadership—always grounded in building high-performing teams with a data-driven strategy. Recognized as a 40 Under 40 honoree and Healthcare Hero nominee, Andy brings the discipline of the scientific method, strategic thinking, collaboration, and innovation to the business setting—shaped by running national programs with the federal government, leading large-scale healthcare operations, and now growing a multi-state consulting firm. He serves on several nonprofit boards including the United Way (board chair 2025-2026), Cooperative Extension, and Lower Cape Fear Lifecare. Andy is a former search and rescue pilot and EMT (some fun stories there). When he’s not helping organizations thrive, you’ll find him with his wife and two daughters—often on the water or traveling the world, always exploring.
