Prince Al Abid

Prince Al Abid As an independent wealth manager with Symphony One Capital Management, I focus on helping RIAs, family offices, and institutional partners access and implement alternative investment strategies. My work centers on translating institutional research into practical portfolio applications, particularly for clients reassessing the role of traditional stocks and bonds in a changing market regime. I support the distribution and structuring of our systematic macro, market-neutral equity, volatility, and specialty reinsurance strategies, with an emphasis on capital efficiency, risk management, and portfolio fit. Over the past several years, I have helped expand Symphony One’s presence in the Southeast by working closely with advisors and platforms seeking diversifying return streams and improved downside characteristics. Outside of client work, I offer pro-bono planning conversations for local educators and collaborate with organizations such as the Call On Me Foundation and Modern Widows Club, supporting veteran families and surviving spouses as they navigate financial decisions after loss. I earned both a B.A. and an M.S. from UNC Wilmington and continue advanced coursework in quantitative methods through MIT’s MicroMasters program, alongside maintaining securities and insurance licenses. Away from markets, I enjoy early-morning workouts, exploring Wilmington’s food scene, catching stand-up at Dead Crow Comedy Room, and browsing board games at Cape Fear Games. I’ve traveled extensively, 42 countries, but my favorite moments are the ones that end at home with my three kids. If you’re interested in alternatives, asset management, or portfolio analysis, I’m always open to connecting and sharing an honest perspective on the work, the learning curve, and what it really takes to build a durable career in this space.
