Amanda Fontana
I grew up on Long Island and transferred to UNCW at the start of my junior year, where I majored in accounting. With the support of UNCW, I secured a senior-year internship with EY in New York City, working in tax for financial services clients. Around that time, I earned my CPA at 21 years old and went on to complete my Master of Tax Law at the University of Denver, continuing my Public Accounting career with EY after graduation.
In 2016, I moved back to the Wilmington area and joined a local CPA firm, where I worked in tax and fractional CFO services for small businesses in the community. That experience sparked my interest in entrepreneurship, and I opened and ran my own yard sign franchise while working full time. In 2019, I made a major career pivot into financial planning and analysis at nCino. Today, I lead the FP&A team, oversee the company’s $600M+ forward-looking forecast, and provide financial guidance used for Wall Street and external reporting.
Outside of work, you’ll find me volunteering as a troop leader for my daughter’s Girl Scout troop, cheering on my son at baseball games, going to the beach, working out at MissionFit, walking the Loop, or—on very rare occasions—sitting on the couch and relaxing.
I am especially interested in mentoring students to help fill the gaps I experienced while transitioning from college into the real world, and to support them as they navigate internships, early career decisions, and professional growth.
