My passion is building better businesses, from scrappy startups to statewide regulatory organizations. Today, I serve as Chief Operating Officer of the North Carolina Rate Bureau, where I lead cross-functional teams across data collection, analytics, underwriting, actuarial, and customer service. I steward a $23M annual budget, and negotiate complex, high-stakes outcomes with regulators, industry leaders, and legislators. I’ve modernized operations, designed core systems with technology partners, and managed vendor relationships exceeding $10M per year, delivering better outcomes with efficiency and clear focus. On the entrepreneurial side, I’m currently Vice President of Education at The Intelligent Agent, an early-stage AI startup ($10M valuation), where I design practical, job-ready AI learning programs for the insurance industry, translating emerging tech into better decisions, faster execution, and measurable outcomes. Previously, I founded a seasonal e-commerce venture that delivered virtual experiences to more than 1,000 customers in its first month, proof that well-designed ideas can scale fast. Earlier in my career, I grew revenue as a VP of Sales, leading a B to B team, advising clients from small mom and pop businesses to large corporate enterprises. I’ve led teams of all sizes, teaching them to make data-driven decisions, and built training that demystifies complex topics for non-experts.
