Cameron Executive Network Mentor
Denise Chadurjian
Currently retired, my work experience spanned over 25 years in Corporate Finance as a professional and manager working in the technology industry (IBM & Lenovo). I worked at various headquarters, research and manufacturing locations throughout NY and in Raleigh, NC. My work entailed putting together large, global deals for the sale or lease of IT hardware, software and services to corporate customers, analyzing business cases, and conducting contracts negotiation and project management. While in Raleigh, I developed the financial model for a new service division in IBM that is still in use today. My educational background is in Government & Law from Lafayette College, where I graduated magna cum laude, was nominated for the U.S. Presidential Intern Program, and interned at the City of Easton, PA, Planning Department. I received my Masters in Public Administration (MPA) from Columbia University, where I was a University Fellow, and graduated with honors, interning at the Urban Academy for Management in NYC. Prior to joining IBM, I worked at the NYC Office of Management & Budget as an analyst. I’ve been in NC since the late ‘90s and moved to Wilmington in 2009. Post-retirement, I’ve been a nonprofit volunteer in the local community. The last three years I’ve been a volunteer mentor and SME (subject-matter-expert in financing and nonprofits) for SCORE. Other (past) volunteer activities: Board member, Cape Fear River Watch; NHC Public Library Advisory Board member & Chair (7 years), grant writer, food-distribution for a local food pantry, Bread for Life; and, media outreach and copy-writing for ROW (neighborhood group).
