Brent Blackmon is a Wharton-trained operating executive with two decades of experience leading strategy, operations, and technology delivery inside enterprise software and professional services businesses. Most recently Chief Strategy Officer at WM Synergy Resources, a private equity-backed technology company, he held full P&L ownership across a $60 million-plus, four-business-unit portfolio, took EBITDA from 8% to 45%-plus, and built the company's first artificial intelligence practice from scratch, shipping production AI products into live customer operations. Earlier in his career he led global delivery organizations at Vitech Systems Group and CGI Technologies and Solutions, scaling teams from and systems to 350+ people across regulated financial services and government sectors. A UNC Chapel Hill graduate, Brent is passionate about helping the next generation of Tar Heels (and Seahawks) navigate the transition from the classroom to the boardroom, whether that means demystifying what an operating executive actually does day to day, building the confidence to lead cross-functional teams early in a career, or simply having an honest conversation about the nonlinear path most real careers take. He believes the best mentorship is practical and specific, and he's glad to be able to give some of that back.
